Crisis Line – (601) 255-7999
You are not alone.
This past Sunday was Easter, y'all. And Easter is my favorite holiday. Y'know why? Because it's the day that God rewrote the entire rulebook, the day that God said that He loves us enough to change everything for us and to be in relationship with us. And that's awesome, in every sense of the word.
When we came to Mississippi after graduating from seminary, we came to minister to all people. And we started our ministry in the summer of 2011. We've been doing this here in Hattiesburg since May of 2013, and walk fellowship has been meeting since November of 2011.
But over these past several years, things have changed. And what we have found is that some of those changes are for the better, and some are not. We have new challenges in our lives, mostly around our health and the health of our family. And so, walk fellowship will no longer be meeting.
Now don't get me wrong. We're not just walking away. We're not simply doing away with the crisis line or the website or any of that, although the website will be reworked and repurposed. This doesn't mean that we're leaving Hattiesburg or we're leaving ministry. On the contrary, ministry is part of who we are. We're not leaving the ministry, but we're re-evaluating where we stand and what the next step is for us, in consideration of the health issues our family now faces. We will still be doing ministry, just not in the same format as the past three-and-a-half years.
Easter is when God changed everything, so it fits that this would be the time when we would make changes to our ministry. See, we live in a world after Easter, a world where we are called to obey God and serve others and do good works. We are called to be a light in the darkness, to be the salt of the earth, to speak the truth that almost nobody wants to hear. We are called to live in the shadow of the cross. We are called to be Jesus Christ for those who don't know Jesus. We are called to live in the Word, and more importantly, live out the Gospel.
Those of you who may have been with us at any time in the past, we thank you, and we hope and pray that not only has our ministry blessed you as you have blessed us, but also that wherever you may end up, you may find the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit there to bless you and keep you and guide you and be all things for you.
As for us, I quote the old hymn – “On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.” There will be change, but we trust that Christ Jesus will lead us to where we need to be.
Greater things are yet to come. Love wins.
Yours in Christ,
Pastors CeCe and Larry
